Newcomb Institute Hiring for Oral History Graduate Assistant
Position Type: Part-time, 10-20 hours per week | Pay: $18/hour
Newcomb Institute is seeking a graduate student to conduct oral histories with women whose materials are housed within the Newcomb Archives and Vorhoff Collection and/or people who participated in feminist movements in the Gulf South. Oral histories will be preserved and accessible through the Newcomb Archives. Some travel may be required.

NAEd/Spencer Postdoctoral Fellowship

The Postdoctoral Fellowship supports early-career scholars working in critical areas of educational scholarship. Fellows will receive $70,000 for one academic year of research, or $35,000 for each of two contiguous years, working half-time. Fellows attend professional development retreats and receive mentorship from NAEd members and other senior scholars in their field. Applicants must have had their PhD, EdD, or equivalent research degree conferred between January 1, 2020, and December 31, 2024, to be eligible to apply this year. This fellowship is non-residential, and applications from all disciplines are encouraged. The NAEd/Spencer Postdoctoral Fellowship will fund 25 early-career researchers.
Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowship: Supporting the Education of New Americans

The Fellowship supports one to two years of graduate study in any field and in any advanced degree-granting program in the United States. The Fellowship involves taking part in two Fall Conferences in New York City (all expenses paid) and meeting with the Fellowship director on your campus. Once a Fellow is welcomed into the fold, they become part of a life-long community connected by the shared experience of being an immigrant or the child of immigrants in pursuit of higher education and growth in their fields.
Eligiblity: An immigrant or child of immigrants, 30 years or younger, planning on starting or continuing an eligible fully-accredited graduate or professional degree program full-time in the United States in the 2026-2027 academic year. If you are already in graduate school when you apply, you must not have started the third year of the degree program you are seeking funding for as of the October 30, 2025 application deadline.
Support: Up to $90,000 towards graduate education over course of one to two years, $50,000+ stipend support paid to fellow, also tuition support paid directly to university.
Kenneth G. Hancock Memorial Award (ACS Green Chemistry Institute)

It encourages the pursuit of environmentally sustainable chemistry and is presented at the Green Chemistry & Engineering Conference. This is a prestigious opportunity for students to gain visibility in the sustainable chemistry field.
Eligibility: Graduate or undergraduate students conducting research in green or sustainable chemistry. Open to both U.S. and international applicants.
Support: $1,000 cash prize and up to $1,000 travel stipend to attend and present at the Green Chemistry & Engineering Conference.
NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP)

Offers postdoctoral researchers the opportunity to conduct research at NASA centers in areas aligned with NASA's science, aeronautics, and space technology missions. Appointments are highly competitive and provide a pathway into federal research leadership.
Eligibility: U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, and international applicants with PhDs in relevant fields (e.g., astrophysics, planetary science, biology, engineering).
Support: Stipend rates start at $70,000, NASA will pay approximately 85% of the premium for an individual or family coverage policy purchased through ORAU, and the Fellow will pay the remainder, $10,000 per appointment year to support travel to conferences, meetings, and other activities.
Medieval Academy of America Dissertation Grants

These grants assist advanced graduate students with research expenses related to doctoral dissertations on medieval studies (circa 300–1500 CE), including travel, manuscript access, and materials.

Sigma Xi Grants-in-Aid of Research (GIAR)

The GIAR program provides funding to support scientific research by undergraduate and graduate students. Funds may be used for travel expenses related to research or the purchase of non-standard equipment.
Eligibility: Applicants must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program. Membership in Sigma Xi is not required but is considered during the review process.
Support: Up to $1,000 for most fields; up to $5,000 for astronomy-related research supported by special funds.
